AmCham HR Committee organizes meeting focused on Employee Engagement

Advocacy

28.06.2012.

On June 27, Danijela Vučković of MSD hosted a meeting focused on Employee Engagement which proved to be a great opportunity to share experiences on a topic that is becoming increasingly important in the corporate world.

In order to achieve full engagement, two conditions need to be met: maximum job satisfaction and maximum job contribution. There are numerous things that can affect employee engagement. Some of the most common so called disengagement triggers are: being passed over for promotion, pressure to make unreasonable adjustments to family/work life balance, realization that one is underpaid compared to someone else doing the same job, etc.

Ms. Vučković pointed out that engaging employees may be key to gaining a competitive advantage. Companies which understand the conditions that enhance employee engagement will have accomplished something which competitors will find very difficult to imitate. She also highlighted important role of managers in the process of engaging employees, as they need to ensure that employees are recognized, valued and respected and that they have fun in the job etc.
