The visit by US Vice-President Joe Biden in May 2009 was a very positive signal for strengthening the economic cooperation between Serbia and the US, and also opened-up opportunities for many follow-up activities. Namely, after the visit, Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic agreed to hold regular semi-annual meetings with AmCham delegation, also involving the key economic ministers in the Government, in order to discuss major regulatory obstacles faced by large investors. Two such meetings were held thus far and the agenda, among other things, reflected the issues pertaining to the labor policy, real-estate regime, as well as a continued effort to advocate for adoption of AmCham’s inputs to the Guillotine reform.
