The House will be 340 square meters and will home fifteen teenagers currently staying in a rented house in Kraljevo. The MK Group has donated EUR 200.000 for the project.
‘It gives me great pleasure that today I can mark the beginning of construction of a house that will become a real home for its residents. I believe the young people that will stay in the house will also get the opportunity to grow up safely, and that this home will give them the power to continue to struggle independently and achieve their dreams and goals.’ - said Miodrag Kostić, President of MK Group.
‘The Municipality of Kraljevo and all its citizens can be proud of their commitment to taking care of those who need help. The new home for fifteen young people will have good living conditions, and will provide the enjoyable and customized environment that they deserve’ - said Ljubiša Simović, Mayor of Kraljevo.
The SOS children's village in Kraljevo, founded in 2004, is a place where children and youth get foster care in 14 families and within the Youth Community. About 40 employees, including 28 foster mothers, family educators and assistants from the SOS Youth Community and psychological, pedagogical and administrative team take care of the protégés.
‘Today we are happy and excited about the precious gift from MK Group, which will allow the youth to prepare for independent living, in a safe and stable home and family with optimal conditions for development and maturation. Also, we believe that this is an example to other companies and people of good will, and a model of social solidarity and responsibility’ - said Vesna Mraković Jokanović, director of SOS Children's Village Kraljevo.
The ceremony was attended by the regional directors of SOS Kinderdorf International (International organization SOS Children's Village).
