At the 8th Annual General Assembly of American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia, member companies have elected five new members of the Board of Governors
Belgrade, February 5, 2009 - At the 8th Annual General Assembly of American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia, member companies have elected five new members of the Board of Governors. General Assembly also served to present past year's results and financial report.
Upon a decision of the majority of the member companies, Dan Bates (Fox TV), Gustavo Navarro (Holcim Serbia), Zoran Petrović (Raiffeisen Bank) and Jelena Kralj (Pedersen & Partners) have been elected as new members of the Board of Governors as well as Marko Mićanović (Altis Capital) was reelected as a Secretary-Treasurer. Dejan Cvetković (Microsoft) will remain at the position of the President of AmCham, in the next one-year. "Although we face challenging times, AmCham will even stronger continue to serve as a key partner to Government with a common goal - improving business environment and promote Serbia as attractive investment destination.", stated Cvetković.
Addressing the member companies, the US Ambassador to Serbia, HE Mr. Cameron Munter praised the work of AmCham and congratulated the Board on its' achievements over the past year, including the formation of the ICT Committee.
The Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce comprises nine members, responsible for defining the strategy and implementing guidelines for AmCham. According to the AmCham Constitution, members of the association elect half of the seats on Board of Governors each year, in order to provide continuous functioning of the organization. In addition, Skip Bornhuetter (Philip Morris), Richard Veitch (US Steel Serbia), and Miloš Đurković (IBM), will continue to serve as the Board members.
