Respecting the relevant provisions in the AmCham statue, AmCham Board of Governors called for a General Assembly meeting due to take place from 17 to 19hrs on Thursday, February 8, 2007.
The venue will be Beogradska Filharmonija, Studentski trg 11. General Assembly represents an opportunity to review the progress against the commitments made by the existing Board, as well as to disclose key financial developments within AmCham over the past year. Furthermore, the General Assembly this year will elect individuals for the positions of the First Vice President, Secretary Treasurer and three Untitled Governors, all two- year terms as prescribed by the amendments to the Statute adopted in September 2005.
All members are encouraged to participate in the selection process through either seeking a position on the Board of Governors or in casting a vote during the election process. The candidate nomination period is formally opened until January 31, 2007.
Members will be duly notified by the Executive Office with a comprehensive election packet which is being distributed today and tomorrow. Candidates are permitted to run for only one position on the Board. All nominees will be requested to submit a brief bio and a short statement on reasons for running for the Board. The Candidate List and accompanying information will be disseminated electronically as well as posted on the website.
All candidates will have an opportunity to present themselves at the pre-election cocktail on Friday, February 2, 2007. Executive Office will forward more details on this event later this week. In order to cast a vote, an employed representative of the voting member company must be present and have registered in advanced with the Executive Office, pursuant to the election packet guidelines. An Election Committee will be organized to oversee the process and ensure conformity with the Statue.
