Direct Media Wins Corporate Volunteering Award

The employees of the Direct Media system have won the ‘Corporate Volunteering Award’ in the “Most successful partnership in the local community” category for the reconstruction of the open-air Amphitheatre in the Children’s Village Sremska Kamenica.

Around 50 employees from the Direct Media system participated in the reconstruction and refurbishment of the Amphitheatre situated in the open-air part of the social protection institution “Dr. Milorad Pavlović”. Having replaced worn-out concrete, Direct Media employees painted the Amphitheatre in colors of the rainbow mentioned in the Children’s Village hymn. On the same day, a virtual reality projection of the exhibition ‘Experience Tesla’, donated to the Nikola Tesla Museum by the company, was presented to the children in the Village.

The action of refurbishing the Amphitheatre lasted for 8 hours, and in the process around 400 m2 of the Amphitheatre was painted, the Amphitheatre having previously been renovated by Direct Media.

Direct Media employees volunteer every year, and during their previous volunteering actions, they refurbished over 1000 m2 of space in the Center for the Protection of Children, Infants and Youth and the space in the Drop in Shelter for street involved children in Belgrade and they spent four months empowering women and children in the Safe House shelter in Belgrade.

The ‘Corporate Volunteering Award’ is granted by the Responsible Business Forum and Smart Kolektiv, with the aim of recognizing and promoting the best volunteering practices of companies. Recognition were awarded in several categories, at a ceremony which was part of the CSR Forum 2017, a conference dedicated to corporate social responsibility.
