Novartis supports the Serbian healthcare

Novartis donates RSD 5.4 Million to support Serbia's healthcare system.

Novartis, together with Sandoz Division, donates RSD 5.4 Million to support the healthcare system, in response to the Government of Serbia's efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

The aid is intended to provide protective masks, COVID-19 tests, respirators and relevant medical equipment necessary to protect health care professionals and treat the population.

"Through this gesture, we want to support first and foremost our healthcare system and the healthcare professionals who are at the forefront of the pandemic and protect the health of the population, and at the same time thank them for the commitment that they show on a daily basis in their workplaces in these difficult times," said Novartis’ general Manager for Serbia & Montenegro, Dominika Sefton.

Additionally, in response to the urgent call for research and development of pharmaceuticals in the fight against COVID-19, published by the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA), Novartis has expressed its willingness to contribute to this significant effort by making available a number of compounds from its laboratories that are considered suitable for in vitro antiviral testing.
