AstraZeneca makes donation to Serbian health service

AstraZeneca has donated RSD 7 Million to the Serbian national health service.

Pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca has donated medical devices, personal protective equipment, and medications valued at RSD 7 Million to the Serbian health service.

‘Our priority at AstraZeneca is to ensure a regular supply of drugs for patients whilst safeguarding the health of all our staff and the broader community. We have responded to the Covid-19 pandemic robustly at both the national and the international level’, said representatives of AstraZeneca.

In addition to working with the University of Oxford on a Covid-19 vaccine, AstraZeneca is also committed to finding the right approaches for treating the disease in those already infected and so reduce the risk of disease progression, clinical complications, and death. This includes investigating medications already on the market that are approved for other indications where their mechanism of action, results of prior testing, and real-life clinical practice suggest they may offer clinical benefits in Covid-19 patients.
